SanDisk christened their new media format Gruvi. It stores protected content dubbed “TrustedFlash” on a microSD card. SanDisk plans for Gruvi to replace the CD as the storage media of choice in the future. So far, only the Rolling Stones have released their album (A Bigger Band) on a Gruvi microSD card for $30. This price will put most people off save for the hardcore Stones fan. As with everything else, the price will drop once memory prices drop – too bad we can’t tell when.
