Ultra-Wideband technology boosts Bluetooth speed

Bluetooth transfer speeds could be augmented by incorporating ultra-wideband (UWB) technology in a few years’ time. Current Bluetooth connections are used in low-speed and data uses, although it is hoped that UWB will usher in the Bluetooth era of video streaming and speedy file transfer that are on par with current 802.11g networks. Expect the first few hi-speed Bluetooth products to debut late 2007.
