XM could be adding a wearable video device to up the ante in its protracted battle with Sirius for satellite radio supremacy. Forget downloading movies onto the iPod video and other comparable devices – XM’s video device uses the On2 VP7 video technology that allows video compression to be broadcast- friendly. This translates to receiving up to 20 broadcasted channels at 256kb capacity each on a live connection. Analysts point to the device’s release before the holiday season, but anything could happen between now and then.
