The Israeli branch of Virtual Air Traffic Flight Simulation Network, VATIL, is currently helping air force pilots ditch their dog-fighting techniques in order to learn up the finesse of flying a Boeing 767. Some of the VATIL instructors are not old enough to obtain their driving licenses, and yet know the flight procedures, cockpit instrumentation, flight patterns, and rules in every major airport. Early training with VATIL’s simulator is roughly equivalent to having the pilot perform 5 real flights.
