Lectrosonics’ XSDT (eXtra-Super-Damn-Tiny) microphone lays claim to being the smallest wireless microphone in the world. This self-contained microphone includes a condenser microphone element, an AA battery, and a 250mW RF transmitter that utilizes Lectrosonics’ proprietary Digital Hybrid Wireless technology. The microphone element offers an amazing frequency response of 5Hz to 120KHz, a dynamic range of 120dB, self-noise of 48dB and a maximum SPL of 168dB. The $499 XSDT-ALK uses an alkaline battery while the $699 XSDT-LITH uses a lithium battery. Since the battery is permanently installed, you got to throw it away once iy runs out of juice, which is a shame, really.
