Sony keeps mum on PlayStation 3 price

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has clarified that the magical number of $500 with regard to the upcoming PlayStation 3 price is nothing but a number cooked out of nowhere. Although George Fornay did mention that $500 is a fair price for a high-definition Blu-ray disc player, SCEE corporate communications manager Nick Sharples says that the number mentioned does not point in the direction of the PlayStation 3. Is this another damage control attempt, or does Sony have something else up their sleeves? We can only wait and see.
