Chicago cops receive Segway scooters

The police are often one of the most misunderstood public servants, and it is no mean task being in their position to ensure that peace and security prevails. Chicago’s finest have received Segway scooters to ease their job when patrolling high-priority locations like O’Hare and Midway airports. Up to $500,000 has been allocated to purchase these crime-fighting machines that coast at a speedy 12.5mph while on the beat. Not only that, a taller stature that comes with the machine gives the advantage to the police when looking for a face in a crowd. Does this mean that those joining the force no longer have to endure any fitness test?
