The Technical University of Berlin and Institute for Motor Vehicles has formed a European alliance to develop a new tri-wheel vehicle concept, dubbed the CLEVER vehicle, for urban use. It should develop around 15kW, weigh 400kg with CO2 emmissions of less than 60g/km, halve the values of the current smallest and most economical mass-produced vehicles. It uses a Compressed Natural Gas engine and a lightweight aluminum chassis to achieve this feat, as was designed to be stable when taking the most exacting corners. It will take quite some time and much of the €3.35 million budget before something beneficial can be mass-produced and adopted worldwide.
