Sony has launched the Memory Stick Data Rescue Service that provides a light at the end of a bleak tunnel for lost or deleted files on the Memory Stick. It can be downloaded for free but requires the registration of the Memory Stick model name and serial number before use. This service recovers JPEG (DCF format), MPEG1 and .mp4 (MS Video File Format) files, along with the majority of Office data files like Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. It takes 7 steps in all to recover the files. So far, we cannot verify the effectiveness of this Data Rescue Service and the way it works exactly.
