We have prepaid phone lines, but what do you think of a prepaid notebook? It looks like Microsoft and Lenovo have collaborated to develop a notebook that costs around half the normal price. To use it, you have got to purchase prepaid cards until the entire notebook is paid for. This move is good for those who are not entirely dependent on computers for everyday tasks, but more of the occasional user. We have no idea how the prepaid monitoring is done – is it in the hardware or software? What happens if someone decides to ghost the machine? Hopefully more details will be released in due time.
