Apple is going through a rather turbulent week, with the first set of MacBook Pro batteries experiencing failure. AppleCare has acknowledged that any MacBook Pro battery with a serial number up to W8608 could potentially fail to respond when the charging status button is pressed and having the battery power cut off to the system suddenly. Symptoms include power level dropping from a full charge to 90% and then suddenly turning off. Call Apple to ship you a new replacement if you’re one of the affected parties.
