Sony’s upcoming D-VE7000S Walkman is a portable DVD player that supports DivX. This unprecedented but welcome move by Sony allows you to enjoy videos encoded with the popular codec. The 7″ widescreen display works well with DVD, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, DVD+/-R DL, CD, VCD, CD-R, and CD-RW formats. Of course, it does not support Blu-ray or HD-DVD technologies. Crisp sound is available via DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1. The D-VE70000S is equally at home or on the road. Pricing and launch details are unavailable as at press time.
