Sony Vaio VGN-UX50 handheld PC

Sony has entered the UMPC fray by introducing the Vaio VGN-UX50 handheld PC. The entire device oozes with style in sleek black and silver that is appealing to the eyes. The UX50 measures 15cm x 9.5cm x 3.2-3.8cm and weighs 520g, offering a battery life of 3.5 hours. It is amazing to behold such a small device that offers the functionality of a full-size notebook or desktop. Unfortunately, it does not come with 3G which is an essential feature in the new generation of handhelds, as EDGE connectivity is insufficient when it comes to surfing today’s bandwidth heavy sites. Prices start from $1550 upwards without any Office software. More specs after the jump. • Processor: U1300 Intel Core Solo 1.06GHz CPU
• 512MB RAM
• 30GB SATA hard drive with drop protection
• 802.11a/b/g WiFi connectivity
• Bluetooth connectivity
• Compact Flash and Memory stick slots
• Port replicator contains three USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire port, one 15-pin D-sub, and one Ethernet port
• Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
