8GB iPod nano in the works?
8GB iPod nano in the works?

Apple has reserved a huge chunk of manufacturing time with chipmakers Samsung Electronics and Hynix Semiconductor at their respective factories for the construction of 2 Gbit NAND flash chips that are similar to the ones used in the iPod nano. This move sparked off rumors that an 8GB iPod nano is not too far off in the future, although Apple has yet to verify or deny it. Either Apple is preparing itself to meet the back to school promotion demands, or the promotion itself could be a ploy to shift the 4GB models to make way for the rumored 8GB nano. As with all rumors, only time will tell of its authenticity.
