The Dell Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband ExpressCard is actually a rebranded Novatel XV620, and it will be available by the end of this week via Dell’s website. ExpressCards are going to supercede today’s CardBus slots that are available in the majority of notebooks today as they offer superior data transfer speeds as well as a smaller form factor. Dell has slapped a $179 price tag on the 5700 and it comes with a free one month Verizon Wireless EV-DO data plan that can be converted to a full-fledged Verizon Wireless plan for $59.99 a month with an existing VW voice plan, or $79.99 monthly without. The 5700 can work on Windows platforms only at the moment.
