Japanese game sales chart owned by Nintendo

Nintendo’s revival cannot be doubted anymore after the company consistently tops Japanese sales charts with the new DS Lite console and New Super Mario Bros. game shifting unbelievable numbers. Demand for the DS Lite has caused a shortage in Japan, which in turn delayed the redesigned console’s release in the U.S. The DS Lite sold more units than the PSP, PS2, original DS, and Xbox 360 combined during the May 29 – June 4 week. The New Super Mario Bros. game performed brilliantly, moving 334,028 copies to outsell the rest of the top 10 list combined. This unprecedented sales performance has even surprised Nintendo executives.
