Samsung is currently the unofficial slim king, but that is a precarious position to be in with fellow Korean companies who introduce similar or improved products constantly. LG Electronics has unveiled a 1.48mm thin TFT LCD display that practically blows the mind away. Available in 2″ and 2.2″ sizes for cellphone use, these new displays boast QVGA quality resolutions and look set to snake their way into handheld consoles, PDAs, and multimedia players in the future. This new development could seriously threaten Samsung’s position in maintaining the crown of the world’s thinnest cellphone.
