Memorex has begun shipping its line of Blu-ray discs, offering both recordable (BD-R) and rewritable (BD-RE) media that support high-definition recording. Each disc has a capacity of 25GB, offering faster transfer speeds and 5 times more space than traditional recordable DVD media. These discs retain the digital quality of HD broadcasts as well as enhanced 7.1 channel surround sound, widescreen aspect ratio, the 1080i high resolution picture, and content-rich features. All Memorex Blu-ray discs come with DuraLayer Technology to provide protection against dust, debris, and the occasional scratch. Both BD-R and BD-RE retail for $19.99 and $29.99 respectively.
