
Microsoft looks set to unseat Apple’s dominance in the portable music arena after holding discussions with notable heavyweights within the music industry, hoping to spawn its very own music service that will rival Apple’s iTunes. Behind those closed doors also saw an unknown device that is capable of playing music and videos. Microsoft had previously vehemently denied having any wishes to dip its far-reaching fingers into the digital music business but it looks set to make an about turn. Apple is currently the 800lb gorilla with its hugely popular iTunes service.
