Forget David Beckham and Ronaldinho. The 10th annual RoboCup held in Germany will see the participation of over 36 teams in a bid to become world champions in soccer with players constructed from wires, metal, and transistors. Even the commentators of the match will be robots developed by a team of scientists from Carnegie Mellon University. Commentaries will be done in synthesized voices with no interruptions in between, unless a goal is produced halfway. The 4-legged category favorites are current world champions Germany while Japan is pressured to produce results in the humanoid category.
