Vocera Communications has developed a system that allows hospital staff to keep in touch with each other anytime, anywhere within the hospital premises via a wearable voice-activated badge. This wireless platform works on any 802.11b network building or campus and comprises of the Vocera System Software and Vocera Communications Badge. The software runs on a standard Windows Server while the Communications Badge can be worn easily, weighing a feather-light 2 ounces that enables instant 2-way communication. Text messages and alerts can also be sent via the LCD screen located behind the badge.
