Education customers of Apple will be able to purchase a new $899 17″ iMac that comes with a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor, an iSight video camera, and the iLife ’06 digital lifestyle application suite. The new iMac is available immediately and will take over the eMac’s position in the market. Other features include a combo CD/DVD optical drive, 512MB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM and a maximum hard disk capacity of 160GB. This price point bodes well to bring cheaper and better educational tools to the masses. Check out the remaining features after the jump.
