The beloved Pentium is of no more from today onwards with the official release of Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor. This closes the Pentium chapter in Intel’s book after a solid 12 years that have seen it lose the performance crown to AMD a few times along the way. The Core 2 Duo processor has everything to be a success: it’s fast, low-power and not too expensive.
