The GPSMAP 496 comes with a multi-function display that shows important information such as a satellite datalink weather that comes with a detailed color map as well as terrain alerting. It also displays other essential information such as Garmin’s SafeTaxi airport diagrams, Garmin’s Smart Airspace, AOPA’s Airport Directory data, and an enhanced high-resolution terrain database. Garmin has also thoughtfully included automotive maps of North America or Europe just in case you need to make an emergency landing.
