Intel lifted the curtain of 5 new chips in the Dual Core Itanium 2 Processor 9000 series. Previously known as ‘Montecito’, these new processors offer double the performance while improving on the performance-per-watt by 2.5 times when compared against current single-core versions. The top-of-the-line 9050 boasts two processing cores and Hyper-Threading technology that enables it to execute up to 4 instructions per processor.
