Everyone thought that chip manufacturer (pun intended) National Semiconductor was extremely generous, giving the fifth generation video iPods to all its employees in the hierarchy. Things have taken a sour turn when the company laid off 35 workers at the Arlington plant and demanded for the return of their iPods. Most of the 35 were shocked at this request as they had not been told that the iPods were company property in the first place. National Semiconductor played the word game with the employees, claiming that the iPods were just handed out to ‘equip’ the employees, and were never given out in the first place.
