ZDNet reports that the Palm LifeDrive device could be put out of its misery soon. This announcement does not come as much of a surprise as the LifeDrive’s functionalities are stuck in no man’s land. A 4GB hard drive based device could hardly place it beside the iPod in terms of a multimedia device, while it is too large to act as a PDA or Personal Information Manager tool. Looks like this is yet another convergence device that will bite the dust not a moment too soon. Its a pity though, since the LifeDrive had that certain amount of coolness factor attached to it.
