Fujifilm has launched its new compact xD Picture Card that can hold up to 2GB worth of data, which is double of what the existing highest-capacity xD Picture Cards can store. These new 2GB cards are compatible with the latest digital compact cameras from Fujifilm as well as models in the future. With the megapixel count in cameras rising at a frantic pace, the memory cards will have to increase in storage space correspondingly. The new xD Picture Card uses high-density Multi Level Cell memory technology that makes it possible to pack in 2GB of storage capacity into a diminutive 20mm x 25mm x 17mm form factor. It will be available from next month onwards.
