The world’s first Blu-ray disc recorder will be made available in the European market at the end of this month. The AMEX DIGITAL M505-BDR supports Blu-ray software titles at the highest resolution through a native 1080p HDMI output, and is also able to up-convert current DVDs to 180p via the HDMI digital interface. You don’t need to throw out your current DVD and CD collection as the M505-BDR is backwards compatible with standard DVDs and CDs including DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, and DVD+R formats. Features include a dual Hybrid digital TV turner with PIP (Picture in Picture) Function, WiFi connectivity, Ethernet and FireWire, as well as slide show functionality. The M505-BDR will retail for approximately $2,000.
