Most people these days are so serious, it seems that they are suffering from a constipation of laughter. The Soundbike project by Jessica Thompson is a noble attempt that aims to inject the fun and joy that is associated with urban cycling. Today’s high pressured society has produced grim-faced cyclists that make Michaelangelo’s sculptures looks more human. The Soundbike involves specially fitted motion sensors that will trigger short audio samples of laughter and giggles whenever the bicycle’s velocity exceeds a certain amount. Hopefully this move will help lighten up the faces of everyone around.
