The FCC has recently approved the new 3108 SIP wireless VoIP phone from 3Com. Strangely enough, the 3108 SIP is not compatible with Skype, one of the most popular VoIP software available out there currently. This device works on the 802.11b/g networks within 65 to 165 feet when indoors and has a maximum range of 820 feet with no obstructions. Features of the 3108 SIP includes an 1.8″ color display, an external 2.4GHz antenna, and built-in memory to store phone numbers. The firmware can be updated via WiFi. There is no word on pricing of the 3108 SIP at the moment.
