Iomega launches Portable Hard Drives

Iomega’s new Portable Hard Drive offers a new standard in data storage as these hardy host-powered peripherals feature Drop Shock technology that prevent data loss due to unexpected shocks and drops. Since this new line is bus-powered, you can do away with unwieldy power supplies on your travels. The dual-interface Portable Hard Drive is available in 80GB and 120GB configurations that retail for $149.95 and $199.95 respectively, and can be connected via USB 2.0 or FireWire. Each drive measures just 12.7mm thin and weighs just 170g, making them ideal candidates for your shirt pocket. The 2.5″ hard drive inside delivers a speedy 5,400rpm performance and is compatible with both Mac and Windows platforms.
