It is a no-brainer to note that a 2D surface such as your TV is not the optimal method to view 3D, but LG has gone a head and demonstrated its new 2D/3D switchable 42″ High Definition LCD TV at IMID 2006. Judging by the pictures, they look like rendered 3D pictures. Could the prototype actually add depth into normal video in order to achieve 3D effects? Maybe this will become commonplace when 1080p becomes the de facto standard for homes all over the world. Apparently Philips has already been working on such technology for quite some time now. How will the human brain be fooled is just a matter of time. What do you guys think?
