The Samba from Falcom is an extremely useful device that acts as a wireless EDGE modem for notebooks and UMPCs, allowing you to make or receive calls over the GSM network and send/receive faxes at the same time. Make sure you plug in your SIM card beforehand in order to gain such functionality. Just remember to take out the SIM card and place it back where it really belongs – inside your cellphone so that you won’t turn the notebook into your primary calling device. Of course, EDGE surfing speeds are nothing much to shout about so you are better off looking for a WiFi hotspot to do your bit of Web surfing.
