Samsung unveils new AMOLED display

Samsung has a new Portable Media Player that boasts a 2.4″ AMOLED display that edges the traditional TFT LCD with a much brighter display and higher contrast ratio of 10,000:1 without any apparent quality loss at a 30-degree viewing angle. This means you get lifelike images that transcend those on a LCD. Surprisingly, such performance comes at a lower power cost, making it ideal for use in portable media players, cellphones, and other similar devices. This new AMOLED display supports a maximum resolution of 240 x 320 and can display up to 16 million colors with a brightness of 200cd/m2.
