Disney decided to dip their hands into the portable media player segment by introducing the Mix Max device. The Disney Mix Max comes with a 2.2″ color LCD display and 512MB of memory which is a definite no-no for any portable media player, hence the SD memory card slot which can take in SD cards up to 2GB in size. Video formats supported include WMV, MP3, WMA (DRM 10), as well as JPEG photos. The Disney Mix Max will be available next month onwards at a wallet-friendly price that will remain below the magical $100 mark. You can also purchase movie titles stored on SD memory cards such as Lizzie McGuire and High School Musical for $19.99 a pop. It is highly doubtful that movies will take off in this way.
