The HTC Universal is actually pretty much a mini-notebook all by itself. You will probably know it better as the SPV M5000, i-mate JASJAR, T-Mobile MDA Pro, or O2 XDA Exec. HTC is not resting on its laurels, however, and is currently working on the Universal’s successor which has already been named the HTC Omni. It will follow the same design flow albeit in a smaller dimension, and boasts features such as VGA output, HSDPA connectivity, and a Samsung processor. The smaller design would push more sales as current Windows Mobile 5.0 devices are often too bulky to carry around. It is widely tipped that the Omni will be released sometime at the end of this year or early 2007.
