The Big Blue has decided to recall more than half a million notebook batteries worldwide which are manufactured by Sony in view of the recent spate of battery explosions reported all over the world. This is in line with Dell, Apple, and Toshiba’s remedial actions. Out of the 526,000 recalled batteries, 168,500 of them are sold in the U.S. alone. IBM and Lenovo, the batteries’ distributor, hopes that this recall will prevent any untoward disasters and injuries to its customers worldwide.
