Maplin clamis that the upcoming A93GC MP4 player will be able to usurp the iPod Nano’s dominant position in the market just because it looks much more pleasing to the eye. Do the engineers know that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder? Maplin is offering the A93GC MP4 player for £60 when it is released in the beginning of November, and the price will see a sharp £40 jump to £100 at the end of 2006. Details of the A93GC are extremely scarce at the moment, but judging by Maplin’s track record, this 2GB portable media player with a 1.5″ display will hardly cause a dent in the Nano’s sales numbers.
