Rugged military-spec UMPC

If you’re a geek and is prone to suffer from a bad case of butterfingers with your hardware, the UMPC from CATCHER (Communications And Telemetry Computing Handheld for Emergency Response) would be the perfect notebook for you. This nifty little device is equipped with military specifications, ensuring it functions even under the most stressful circumstances. Features of the CATCHER UMPC include a variety of wireless and wired communications capabilities, an integrated GPS chip, a built-in fingerprint sensor, two digital cameras which are used to capture photos in 2 megapixel resolution while holding up to 5 video conference sessions simultaneously, and even a built-in RFID reader. This weather-resistant UMPC also boasts 2GB of RAM and a 40GB hard drive, which still functions well after a 3 foot drop onto cement. There are no details on pricing at the moment, but it will most probably be priced somewhere in the region of $5,000 to $6,000.
