Sony cuts PS2 price in Japan

Anyone extremely latecomers to the current generation of home consoles or those seeking to replace their used and abused PlayStation 2 consoles will be happy to note that Sony will reduce its price by approximately 19%, in Japan as the company prepares itself to launch the PlayStation 3 this November. This means picking up the PS2 will cost you just $138, which is cheaper than Nintendo’s DS Lite in certain places. The suggested retail price will come into effect next Friday on September 15.
