Anyone extremely latecomers to the current generation of home consoles or those seeking to replace their used and abused PlayStation 2 consoles will be happy to note that Sony will reduce its price by approximately 19%, in Japan as the company prepares itself to launch the PlayStation 3 this November. This means picking up the PS2 will cost you just $138, which is cheaper than Nintendo’s DS Lite in certain places. The suggested retail price will come into effect next Friday on September 15. Are there any of our readers willing to pony up $140 for a console that is in its twilight years, or would you prefer to save that cash to face the onslaught of the next generation?
