Sony has dropped a trio of new hybrid DVD/HDD recorders for your home entertainment setup. Both the RDZ-D900A and RDZ-D800 are equipped with 400GB hard drives, while the RDZ-D700 has a miserly 250GB hard drive. The RDZ-D900A has a special function that enables you to transfer your favorite videos from the recorder to the PSP itself while converting MPEG 2 files to MPEG 4 automatically for your viewing pleasure. A “Collar transfer” feature helps you keep track of which files have crossed over to the PSP so that there won’t be any redundancy. The RDZ-D8000 and RDZ-D700 sadly do not boast this feature. You can pick up any one of the three in Japan this November. Pricing details are still unavailable.
