Cowon has a couple of new portable media players up its sleeves which will be released before 2006 is over. The Cowon P5 and A3 are actually brothers, with the former being the high end version of the latter. The P5 (as shown on the right) features a 5″ touchscreen display with a DMB antenna as well as HSDPA modem support, and will run on Windows CE 5.0. The Cowon A3 takes a slightly different route, running on Linux instead with a spanking new CPU, but otherwise the rest of the specifications will remain similar to the A2. Hopefully they make it in time for the holiday season, as portable media players are a pretty hot commodity in the market at the moment.
