Gold-plated 71-inch plasma TV from LG

When you’ve run out of ideas on how to improve an already amazing technological wonder, the answer is simple. Just slap on some 24k gold on the device and you’ve got a masterstroke of genius on your hands. That is exactly what LG did with their brand new 71″ plasma display TV that was seen recently at KES 2006. This monster of a TV is not just all looks with no substance – you get a full High Definition resolution of 1920 x 1080, a brightness level of 10,000 suns (we’re kidding – we meant 100cd/m2), and a contrast ratio of 1,500 to 1. Do you think LG needed to add some gold onto the exterior since the HDTV on its own is already so desirable?
