Hitachi HRM-1 transfers CD tracks to SD

Do people still buy portable CD players these days with the plethora of MP3 players that have flooded the market for the past few years? Apparently, Hitachi thinks so as they introduce the HRM-1 portable CD player that can record directly to an SD memory card without being connected to a PC. The HMR-1 is very travel-friendly, sharing roughly the same dimensions as a standard portable CD player and features MP3/WMA playback in addition to audio CDs. We highly suspect that most people will use the HRM-1 to transfer all their CD tracks onto the SD card format to be used later on in other devices like a cellphone or PDA in a painless and efficient manner. Hitachi will unveil the HRM-1 in Japan for approximately £114 this November. Be cautioned that this device does not burn DRM tracks.
