iNNODISK unveils flash-based hard drive

The future looks pretty bright for portable devices as iNNODISK has unveiled a whole range of IDE and SATA flash memory-based hard drives. This can only mean a longer battery life and lower power consumption as well as a lower risk of data corruption due to the absence of a moving drive head. The trio of product types available includes 2.5″ and 3.5″ RAID hard drives which come on SD or Compact Flash card formats, and a form of 2.5″/3.5″ IDE cartridges with 8GB or 16GB of memory. Imagine the possibilities of cramming these into notebooks or PCs – you’ll be able to get much smaller form factors. Of course, such products will cost a bomb but at least it offers an extremely speedy solution.
