Looks like HTC is not the only smartphone manufacturer to come up with excellent devices after Asus’ O2 XDA Graphite was approved by the FCC yesterday, with the O2 XDA Zinc following closely behind. The Taiwanese manufacturer’s latest smartphone device attempts to make a splash in the Windows Mobile-powered market by developing smartphones that resemble those made by HTC. After all, why reinvent the wheel? The O2 XDA Zinc, also known as the Asus Mars II, is a tri-band GSM handset that boasts 3G connectivity. It has an Intel PXA270 520MHz processor running at the heart of things while Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi keeps you connected at all times. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard makes typing a cinch and the 2 megapixel camera is great for photobloggers. There’s no word on when the Zinc will be available, but it is never too late to set aside some cash for it as from today.
