Pioneer has announced a trio of components which will definitely send audiophiles into a frenzy, but normal folks like me will probably glance at the releases with a befuddled look out my face. The PD-D6 Super Audio CD player can be used in conjunction with the A-A9 and A-A6 amplifier. Needless to say, the PD-D6 player can play back SACDs, reproducing sound as the recording artiste intends it to be. The PD-D6 SACD player will retail for approximately $668, while the A-A9 and A-A6 amplifiers will retail for $1,128 and $668 respectively when they begin to ship this December. Has anyone have had experience with SACDs? Are they really that better sounding than standard CDs which is worth the extra pennies plonked down for it?
