The PowerMate from Griffin is a USB multimedia controller that features a knob design. You can program the PowerMate to perform a wide variety of tasks including editing home movies, scrolling through a 100-page document, or even compose your very own audio masterpiece. It does not only work via twisting the knob around, but you can even mute your music to answer an incoming phone call by pressing it down. The light that glows just below the PowerMate indicates what you’re currently controlling. It even provides a cool, hypnotic pulse of light whenever your computer enters sleep mode. This versatile desktop peripheral costs $45.
