Quanta Computer, the largest contract laptop PC maker in the world, is going to develop its own UMPCs based on a reference design from Intel and software supplied by Yahoo. This new UMPC from Quanta will be the company’s first foray into the UMPC market and will run off Intel’s Viiv technology, incorporating Go TV, Yahoo! photos, music, and miscellanous content. The operating system of choice is Microsoft’s Windows XP Tablet Edition. Details regarding price and availability are currently unknown, but we know that the Quanta UMPC comes with a QWERTY keypad.
